Foundation Appoints New Development Officer
Dean Rita Frantz recently announced that Dayna Ballantyne has joined the University of Iowa Foundation as the director of development for the College of Nursing.
Ballantyne formerly served as executive director for the Iowa Women’s Foundation, and she has more than 15 years of nonprofit management and philanthropy experience focusing on strategic planning, fundraising, donor relations, and events.
“With her background, Ms. Ballantyne will be experienced to interact with our alumni and friends on a very professional level,” said Dean Frantz.
Ballantyne received a B.S. degree in social work from the University of Iowa, and an M.S. degree from the University of Michigan in social work, specializing in nonprofit management and community organizing. An Iowa native who hails from Cedar Rapids, Ballantyne has twin daughters, Aubrey and Amara, and a two-year-old son, Ian. She has devoted her career to expanding educational and community programs.
