Anne Fischer Snell

Anne Fischer Snell was born April 2, 1933, in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, to Herman and Elizabeth Fischer.  The family moved to Meservey, Iowa, in 1936.  Anne graduated from Meservey High School and then earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from the State University of Iowa.

In 1955, while working at University Hospitals, Anne met Bruce, a law student, who she married in 1956. During their 59 years of marriage, their interesting diverse activities included attending many musicals in Des Moines and years of season tickets to the Iowa Hawkeye football games. Travel included visiting all of the 50 United States, six countries in South America, 18 countries in Europe, eight provinces in Canada, five Caribbean Islands, Morocco in Africa, the Bahamas and Mexico. 

During her 37 years of employment, Anne worked in two hospitals as a clinical nurse, taught in two Schools of Nursing, was a school nurse in two schools, a public health nurse, and a public health nurse consultant for 15 counties.
