Dean Frantz to Chair National DNP Summit

On April 15 and 16, UI College of Nursing Dean Rita Frantz will be chairing a national summit on the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree in Chicago.

Sponsored by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), summit attendees will include representatives from national health care organizations, certifying and accrediting bodies, practice leaders, nurse educators, and other key constituents.

DAISY in Training Winner Announced

BSN senior Katie Bulin received the nation’s first DAISY in Training Award™ March 11, 2013, at the College of Nursing Building.

The award is designed to remind students—even on the hardest days in nursing school—why they want to be a nurse. By recognizing nursing students who go above and beyond, providing care and compassion to patients and their families, we celebrate what it truly means to be a nurse.

ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT: Confidence Abound

It didn’t take long for Katie Jo Rankin to realize that the benefits of earning her nursing degree from the University of Iowa would extend well beyond a top-notch education and leading-edge preparation.

As she applied for jobs—and eventually post-graduate programs—across the country, it quickly became evident that her BSN also came with a renowned reputation for excellence that would open more doors than she ever imagined.
