The University of Iowa Alumni Association (UIAA) recently announced the 2016 recipients of its Distinguished Alumni Awards—the Association’s highest honor. One graduate from the College of Nursing—Mary Anderson—was among this select few.

Professor Cormac O’Sullivan, PhD, CRNA, ARNP, has been appointed to the board of directors for the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA).
Dr. O’Sullivan’s appointment to the NBCRNA—which oversees board exams and recertification of more than 50,000 Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs)—will begin in September 2016.
Matthew Robertson, a current participant of UI’s College of Nursing Online Nurse Residency Program at UnityPoint St. Luke's Sioux City, recently won the 2016 Innovations in Patient Care Award for his poster presentation, which was titled “Reducing Anxiety and Distress with Pediatric Blood Samples.”
