Single mother, full-time registered nurse working at multiple facilities, volunteer firefighter, 4-H superintendent, community activist (Habitat for Humanity, NAMI, PTK just to name a few), and let’s not forget, a full-time student in pursuit of her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of Iowa ... yes, you could say Selena Sampson has a lot on her plate.

McCarthy to give NINR Director's Lecture

Professor Ann Marie McCarthy, PhD, RN, PNP, FAAN, associate dean for research and scholarship, has been selected as the featured speaker for an upcoming National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR) Director’s Lecture series.

Dr. McCarthy’s presentation, “Distraction in Action: Helping Children Cope with Painful Procedure,” will take place September 25 on the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Campus in Bethesda, Maryland.
