The University of Iowa Center on Aging is an interdisciplinary resource for aging-related interests and activities throughout the university, community and the state.

Aging Mind and Brain Initiative
The Aging Mind and Brain Initiative is a multidisciplinary collaboration involving researchers from several specialties including the life sciences, behavioral sciences, social sciences, engineering, medical sciences, human factors, biostatics, ethics, law, and others. The Initiative’s vision is to create a world-class collaborative research and implementation entity aimed at research, education, and outreach to enhance the lives and societal vitality of our aging population, focusing on the cognitive aspect of aging

Iowa Geriatric Education Center
The Iowa Geriatric Education Center is a consortium that promotes the development of sustainable, high quality training programs to improve the training of health professionals and students in Gerontology and Geriatrics. Members of the Iowa Geriatric Education Center include the University of Iowa (Colleges of Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy and Nursing), Palmer College of Chiropractic, Aging Resources of Central Iowa, Iowa Health Systems, and the Iowa Foundation for Medical Care.

School of Social Work
The Aging Studies Program is a multidisciplinary curriculum program consisting of courses in the Psychological, Biological/Health, and Social/Cultural aspects of aging. Options for specializing in Aging Studies include a Certificate in Aging Studies, Minor in Aging Studies, a Specialization in Gerontological Social Work or an Individualized Major in Aging Studies.

The Portal of Geriatric Online Education (POGOe) is a free public repository of a growing collection of geriatric educational materials in various e-learning formats, including lectures, exercises, virtual patients, case-based discussions, simulations, as well as links to other resources. New products are added every month.

POGOe's mission is to promote geriatric education through the provision and encouragement of free exchange of teaching and assessment materials that support the fields of geriatrics and gerontology, and is supported by The John A. Hartford Foundation and endorsed by the Iowa Hartford Center.
