Jan M. Foote is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Iowa College of Nursing (CON). Jan teaches in the Doctor of Nursing Practice program. As a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, she specializes in the care of children with disorders of growth and hormone regulation at the Blank Children’s Endocrinology Clinic in Des Moines, IA.

Jan is a member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners, Iowa Association of Nurse Practitioners (IANP), American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties, and Pediatric Endocrinology Nursing Society (PENS). She serves on the PENS board of directors.

Jan is a clinical scholar and national and international speaker in pediatric endocrinology. Jan led an interdisciplinary team in developing an evidence-based clinical practice guideline on linear growth measurement of children which has been widely disseminated and adopted by organizations around world. She is currently studying neonatal growth measurement practices.

Jan has received several honors and awards including the Always Committed to Excellence award, 100 Great Iowa Nurses honoree, IANP Nurse Practitioner of the Year award, IANP Nurse Practitioner Mentor of the Year award, CON Research and Clinical Partnership award, National Evidence-Based Practice Conduct of Research award, and the first PENS Excellence in Advanced Practice award. In 2015, she was inducted as a Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
