Cram, Colleagues to Present at DEU Conference

Ellen Cram

Abstracts by Associate Professor Ellen Cram, PhD, RN, assistant dean of undergraduate programs, along with Jennifer Carpe, a nurse manager at UIHC, and Karina Schnieders, a staff nurse at UIHC, have been accepted for a joint podium presentation at the Portland Model DEU Conference this summer.

Schnieders is the author of "Rewards and Challenges of a Clinical Instructor for the Dedicated Education Unit"; Carpe and fellow nurse Tammy Sebolt wrote “Lessons from a DEU Practice/Academic Partnership”; and Cram penned "Implementing and Measuring the DEU Model in a Unionized Academic Medical Center."

All three will present their respective abstracts at the Portland Model DEU: A Journey to Future Possibilities National Conference, which will be held July 19, 2014, in Portland, Ore.

“We are very excited that all three abstracts we submitted were accepted,” said Cram.

The conference program and related information will be available at http://nursing.up.edu in late May.
