Judge-Ellis Inducted as AANP Fellow
Associate Professor Teresa (Tess) Judge-Ellis, DNP, ARNP, FNP-BC, was recently notified of her induction as a Fellow of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
The Fellows of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (FAANP) impact national and global health by engaging recognized nurse practitioner (NP) leaders who make outstanding contributions to clinical practice, research, education, or policy to enhance the AANP mission.
Dr. Judge-Ellis is nationally board certified in family practice and psychiatry/mental health. She practices two days per week in a rural primary care clinic and one day a week in a private psychiatric office. Her interests include general psychiatry, all aspects of mental health care in the primary care setting, medically unexplained physical symptoms (somatization), family practice, and cultural competence in health care providers.
In 2005, Dr. Judge-Ellis was awarded the Friends of Iowa Civil Rights, Inc. Individual Award and the Catalyst Award from the University of Iowa Office of Equal Opportunity and Diversity in recognition for her leadership efforts towards developing cultural competence and the elimination of health disparity.
