Did you know that the number one killer of women in the United States is heart disease? It is more deadly than all forms of cancer. One in three women dies of heart disease or stroke.  This Friday, February 6 is National Wear Red Day. This day reminds us of the impact of heart disease on women and how we can prevent it.

I encourage you to take few minutes out of your day and complete the heart health risk assessment provided by the American Heart Association. Use these results to jump start a heart healthy plan or discuss them with your primary care provider. Remember heart disease can be prevented if we take the time to understand our risk.
