Berg to Serve as President of AFPNP
Mary Berg, DNP, RN, ARNP, CPNP, clinical associate professor & PNP program director, was recently notified that she has been named president-elect of the Association of Faculties of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (AFPNP)—a national organization of nursing educators who teach in pediatric, family and school nurse practitioner programs.
“I am honored to be considered for the office of president for AFPNP,” said Berg, who has been a member of the association for 10 years and held the position of secretary/treasurer from 2010-2012. “As president, I will lead the organization and continue to promote high standards in PNP education, promote faculty collaboration on national PNP issues, and encourage growth in AFPNP membership.”
In total, Berg will serve a three-year term: one year as president-elect, one year as president, and a final year as past-president.
Dr. Berg has been a faculty member at UI’s College of Nursing for 13 years and a pediatric nurse practitioner for more than 15 years. She also maintains a primary care practice at the Healthy Kids School-Based Clinic, a free clinic primarily for underserved children.
