Biography

Dr. Bomin Jeon joined the College of Nursing in 2022 after completing her PhD in Nursing at the University of Pittsburgh. Her research interest focuses on comorbid sleep disorders and their consequences on health outcomes in individuals with chronic medical conditions. Her initial research is to investigate the effect of comorbid obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and insomnia on mental and physical health in individuals with type 2 diabetes. Her long-term goal is to 1) investigate symptoms and experiences of comorbid OSA and insomnia as a potential contributor to increase the burden of diseases in individuals with chronic diseases, 2) identify factors that impact the symptoms and experiences of comorbid OSA and insomnia, and 3) develop tailored sleep interventions to prevent and improve the differences in the burden of diseases in individuals with chronic medical conditions.
