DNP Alumna to Lead IONL

Jennifer Nutt (DNP ′03) has been named the next director of the Iowa Organization of Nurse Leaders (IONL).

Nutt currently serves as Director of Clinical Services at the Iowa Hospital Association (IHA). In this role, which she has held since January 2015, Nutt develops clinical education programs, participates in statewide quality and patient safety initiatives and serves as a liaison with various clinical and quality related organizations.

Alumni Form NP-Run Clinic in Minnesota

Connie White Delaney (MA ′78, College of Nursing; PhD ′86 College of Education) and Thomas Clancy (BSN ′78 & PhD ′06, College of Nursing; MBA ′93) recently helped create a new nurse practitioner-led clinic in Minneapolis.

By opening this NP-run clinic, Professor Delaney, PhD, RN, FAAN, dean, Professor Clancy, PhD, MBA, RN, FAAN, and others at the University of Minnesota’s School of Nursing, are transforming health care.

Des Moines VA leader transfers to Iowa City

The relatively new director of Des Moines' Veterans Affairs Medical Center is transferring to the Iowa City VA.

Judith Johnson-Mekota (MSN ’98) was named director of the VA's Central Iowa system in late 2013. Friday, the VA announced that she had been appointed director of the Iowa City system.
