Biography

Debra J. Strobel, MSN, RN, is an assistant professor/ lecturer for the College of Nursing RN-BSN program/BSN program. Debra received her ADN from Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, Iowa. She received both her Bachelor and Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Iowa.

Debra has been a lecturer for the College of Nursing since 2006. Prior to that she worked as a teaching assistant at the College of Nursing, where she assisted faculty in the Human Behavior and Development and Nursing Communication courses.

Debra retired in 2022 as an administrator for a home care agency which she helped establish in 1995. Prior to that, she worked in community hospitals in a large variety of disciplines, including Labor & Delivery, Nursery, Surgery, Telemetry, Medical-Surgical, Emergency Room and Pediatrics. She was a house supervisor for her last six years in the hospital setting before starting the home care agency.

Debra has a strong interest in education and stays involved with nursing through membership in the Gamma Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau, ANA/INA and the Brain Injury Association.
