Pediatric Nurse Practitioner – Acute Care

New Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program Collaborative features the University of Iowa and the University of Nebraska Medical Center

The University of Iowa College of Nursing’s Pediatric Nurse Practitioner – Acute Care (PNP-AC) program announced it has engaged in a Collaborative with the nursing program from the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC).

“The expertise of our faculty will provide the needed context to frame the essential content related to management of the acute care pediatric clients,” explained Anita Stineman, associate clinical professor and interim associate dean for academic affairs.

All clinical practicum arrangements are the responsibility of the faculty at the home institution. This innovative Collaborative allows all institutions to provide a robust curriculum to students while effectively capitalizing on available PNP-AC faculty resources to meet the needs for expanding clinical roles across the Midwest.

“MOU is signed, students are starting to apply and register. Progress is being made for this new collaborative venture,” added Dr. Stineman. “We are very exciting to get started!”
