Rural hospital medicine

Dr. Dana L. Fowler has been a Nurse Practitioner for 15 years with a focus on pulmonary and critically ill patients. She has worked in private practice, academic hospitals, and is currently working in a rural hospital in Iowa as the director of a novel Nurse Practitioner-led Hospitalist program. Dr. Fowler's passions include leading the next generation of Acute Care Nurse Practitioners to care for our rural populations in rural hospitals and teaching future ACNPS how to care for patients across the acute spectrum.  She is especially passionate about promoting the nursing approach to patient care in advanced practice and supporting the growth of our profession.
