Welcome from the Dean

Dean Julie Zerwic

Welcome students, alumni, current and future partners of the College of Nursing at the University of Iowa. The college has a rich history of preparing nurses for clinical practice, generating scientific knowledge and evidence for practice, and leading systems of health care. Our alumni, faculty and students are impacting health care in Iowa and throughout the world.

Faculty and students are leading discoveries in:

- gerontology
- health systems
- pain and symptom management
- genetics

The University of Iowa provides a rich environment for students to collaborate with other students in health science disciplines such as pharmacy, dentistry, public health, and medicine. In addition, we work with scholars in engineering, psychology, education, and many others. This translates to educational opportunities that allow each student to tailor their interests to careers in industries, health care facilities, academic institutions, and nonprofit organizations.

Each year, more than 800 students choose the University of Iowa College of Nursing as their educational partner for the Baccalaureate in Nursing Science (BSN), Master of Science as a Clinical Nurse Leader (MSN-CNL), Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), and research doctorate (PhD). We are proud to have each and every one of them as future alumni.

Whatever your relationship with the college we would welcome you for a visit.

Go Hawkeyes!
