What Is the IONRP Academy?
Prepare the environment before you invest.
The IONRP Academy is a coaching‑based program designed to help organizational leaders intentionally prepare the work environment to support the successful implementation and long‑term sustainability of a nurse residency program.
We partner with rural and community healthcare organizations to focus on what truly drives new graduate nurse success—not only the physical work environment, but also leadership, culture, and professional development infrastructure. When the environment is right, residency programs don’t just launch—they thrive.
New graduate nurses need more than skills; they need supportive systems and strong leadership. Using an evidence‑informed framework, the IONRP Academy helps organizations examine critical questions such as:
- How prepared are nurse leaders and nursing professional development practitioners to support new graduates?
- What cultural or leadership gaps may be influencing nurse engagement and retention?
- How can foundational enablers be strengthened to foster a healthy, supportive work environment?
Through guided assessment and coaching, the Academy helps organizations build the conditions that allow both new graduate nurses and nurse residency programs to succeed.
