Biography

Dr. Kathleen Fear has been a nurse anesthetist with UIHC for 20 years and affiliated with the Nurse Anesthesia program during this time as a lecturer. She has been teaching undergraduate pathophysiology at UI's College of Nursing for the previous three years and the past year she has been teaching graduate level pathophysiology. In 2020, Dr. Fear accepted a part-time faculty lecturer position within the graduate college at UI's CON and will continue teaching pathophysiology and clinical pharmacology. In addition to her work at the CON and UIHC, Dr. Fear is on the clinical practice advisory committee to the Iowa Board of Nursing. She is also on the NBCRNA committee for SEE item writing. In the past, Dr. Fear has held multiple political appointments with the Iowa Association of Nurse Anesthetists and the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists, as well as several committee appointments at UIHC.
