Image with words "Moving Beyond Nurse Residency"

2023 was here and gone in what felt like a blink of an eye. As a team, we have spent the last 12 months focusing on serving our current customers best by improving our customer experience and support. We have also been busy working on reviewing and updating our Supporting Nurses Course, among other things that allow us to continue to show up and bring you the curriculum, tools, and resources you need to ensure a successful transition into practice for your new graduate nurse. With 2023 now behind us, we are excited to announce what 2024 will have in store.

First, our very own podcast! The Beyond Nurse Residency Podcast is an educational series where we interview experts on all topics related to transitioning new graduate nurses into practice and beyond. Our goal with this series is to educate, guide, and inspire nurse leaders and nurse educators on various topics related to onboarding, orientation, transition to practice, and ongoing role development of nurses. For now, you can look for a new episode to drop each month on our website, but don't worry; it will soon be available wherever you listen to podcasts. Check out our first episode featuring Dr. Kathy Casey, long-time residency program coordinator and co-author of the Casey-Fink Graduate Nurse Experience Survey. You don't want to miss it!

Our next exciting announcement is the launch of our IONRP Academy. This coaching program is designed for organizations as they prepare for the implementation and ongoing sustainability of a nurse residency program. Launching a nurse residency program takes effort, and residency programs flourish when the environment is ready to support that work. Through the Academy, nurse leaders and educators will work 1:1 with a residency program expert to ensure the organization is residency-ready. Participants will engage in 4 coaching calls over 3-4 months as residency experts facilitate the completion of a Gap Analysis, SOAR Analysis, and a comprehensive Action Plan. Follow-up accountability calls are also included to check in on progress and celebrate success. Whether you are new to nurse residency, have an existing program, use the IONRP, or use something completely different, the IONRP Academy is here to help. Organizations can take advantage of this offering twice yearly, starting in February and again in August. Get all the extra support you need to become residency-ready. Enrollment closes on January 31st. Join our waitlist to get all the details delivered to your inbox!

Finally, you asked for it, and we are delivering our new Cultivating Clinician Wellbeing Course. In late 2020, we collaborated with Dr. Patrick Jeffs at The Resiliency Solution to provide a comprehensive training program for our new graduate nurses to build resilience in healthcare, adding topics such as self-awareness, self-regulation, connection, and optimism. Since then, we have further augmented this by adding self-compassion, self-appreciation, meaning, engagement, grit, and achievement. While these skills are essential for new graduate nurses adjusting to new roles and organizations, they are critical for everyone. The wellbeing curriculum threaded throughout our residency program will soon be available as a stand-alone course you can add to any nurse residency program, but what's even better is that you can use it for any healthcare professional in your organization. Want to be notified as soon as this course is available? Add your name to our notification list here.

2024 has so many exciting things in store. We cannot wait to continue providing all of you with the curriculum and resources you need to effectively support your new graduate nurses. Stay tuned for more updates on these exciting offerings, plus so much more! Happy New Year!
