Graduate Student Teaching and Research Assistantships and Fellowships
Application for teaching and research assistantships and fellowships are coordinated through the Office for Nursing Research and the Office of the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.
Graduate assistant employees are in a bargaining unit represented by the United Electrical, Radio, and Machine Workers of America, Local 896 COGS. The UE/COGS collective bargaining agreement, which governs conditions of employment for graduate assistants, is negotiated every two years. The agreement covers employer and employee rights, posting of appointments available, hours, wages, health insurance, paid leaves and holidays, unpaid leaves, travel and lodging, health and safety, personnel files, and grievance procedures.
