Residents in Crawford County Memorial Hospital

Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Dension, Iowa hosted the District A Iowa Organization of Nurse Leaders Meeting for the month of September. During this meeting, two nurse residents from the Iowa Online Nurse Residency Program had the opportunity to present their residency project to the group of approximately 30 nurse leaders from Northwest Iowa.  These residents did an excellent job working to improve care at their facility. Topics included: Ensuring Adequate Thromboprophylaxis for Inpatients in a Critical-access Hospital and Going the Full 40 Weeks of Pregnancy, aimed at decreasing elective induction rates of pregnant mothers.

Completion of the project marks the end of the residency program for these residents, but the outcomes will continue to have an impact for years to come.

Congratulations to the six nurse residents who recently completed the program this past week! They include Amber Rosener and Amanda Huynh from Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison, Iowa; Megan Horgdal and Elizabeth Zavala from Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak, Iowa;  Kelli Hanken from Winneshiek Medical Center in Decorah, Iowa; and Catrina Jargo from Katherine Shaw Bethea Hospital in Dixion, Illinois.
