More than 7,100 undergraduate students were named to the University of Iowa dean’s list for the spring 2023 semester, and more than 1,100 were named to the president's list. Of those, 425 on the dean's list and 149 on the president's list were College of Nursing students. Released June 15 in Iowa Now, the lists recognize academic achievement and excellence.

Guidelines for inclusion on the dean's list:

  • Degree seeking undergraduate student in the Carver College of Medicine, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the College of Education, the College of Engineering, the College of Public Health, the Tippie College of Business, and University College who achieve a grade-point average (GPA) of 3.50 or higher on 12 semester hours or more of UI graded coursework during a given semester or summer session and who have no semester hours of “I” (incomplete) or “O” (no grade reported) during the same semester 
  • College of Nursing student participating in clinical courses who have a total of 12 semester hours of earned credit, with eight semester hours of graded credit with a GPA of 3.50 or higher

Guidelines for inclusion on the president’s list:

  • Student must achieve a GPA of 4.0 in 12 semester hours or more of UI graded coursework and who have no “I” marks (incompletes) or “O” marks (no grade reported) on their records for two consecutive semesters.
