Cheri Doggett, academic program management coordinator— RN-BSN program, received the 2024 Board of Regents Staff Excellence Award this spring. This university-wide award recognizes staff members whose accomplishments have significantly benefited the university and had a significant positive impact on the state of Iowa.
Doggett has coordinated the RN-BSN program for 16 years and supports students on their journey from RN to BSN. A former student writes, "what truly sets Cheri apart is her unwavering dedication to facilitating student’s achievements while celebrating and embracing our diversities and unique experiences. Cheri is a true champion for every nursing student at Iowa."
Improving Our Workplace Award (I.O.W.A.) | Fall 2023
The university-wide Improving Our Workplace Award (I.O.W.A.) affords supervisors and co-workers the opportunity to recognize staff for initiative, innovation, measurable results, and lasting impact in their workplace.
Maria Hein, data manager in the Office of Nursing Research and Scholarship, received the award for her excellence in supporting College of Nursing faculty research studies, dedication to project development and process improvement, and contributions to building a supportive work environment at the college.

Leah Koppes, constituent relations and scholarship coordinator, received the award in recognition of her leadership in redesigning the college's scholarship application and awards process, making it easier for both students and faculty.
David J. Skorton Award for Staff Excellence in Service | Fall 2023

Linda Myers, academic program management coordinator—BSN program, received the UI Staff Council David J. Skorton Staff Excellence Award for Public Service. This award is given annually to individuals who have made significant contributions and have shown exceptional imagination and dedication to improving the university community.
Prior to her retirement in June 2024, Linda was instrumental to the experience and success of the college’s BSN students. Over her twenty years at the college, she advised 3,348 BSN students, about 25 percent of the college’s nearly 12,000 alumni.
