Biography

Samantha Lee is an Assistant Professor of Instruction at the University of Iowa College of Nursing and an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner specializing in pediatric pulmonary medicine at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital. She earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Iowa in 2022, completing a project focused on reducing family stress in pediatric intensive care through diary implementation. Her academic foundation includes a Master of Science in Nursing from Rush University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Iowa. With over two decades of clinical experience, Samantha has served in roles spanning neonatal intensive care, pediatric critical care, and pediatric pulmonary medicine. She holds certifications as a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in Acute Care and as an Asthma Educator Specialist, reflecting her commitment to advancing pediatric respiratory health. 

Samantha is actively engaged in teaching graduate-level courses in pediatric acute care and mentoring Doctor of Nursing Practice students. Her scholarly contributions include authoring chapters in leading pediatric acute care texts and presenting nationally on topics such as bronchiolitis and family-centered care in critical settings. She also serves as President of the Iowa Chapter of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners, demonstrating her leadership in professional advocacy and education.
