Emerging Nurse Leader Award
The Emerging Nurse Leader Award recognizes graduates who have demonstrated leadership and achievement in nursing, related fields, healthcare, and/or have made contributions to the profession early in their career.
Eligibility: Awarded to an individual who graduated with a degree from the University of Iowa College of Nursing within the last 10 years.
Nomination Packet: Must be submitted online and contain nominee’s resume/CV and a one- to two-page nomination statement addressing all criteria mentioned below. Permission from the nominee is required to submit a nomination. The recipient will provide the alumni address at the fall BSN commencement ceremony.
The nominator must have an established professional relationship with the nominee.
Characteristics of a Successful Nominee
The recipient embodies the following qualities or criteria:
- Reflects the mission of the University of Iowa College of Nursing as a leader for the profession and society.
- Significant contribution to the profession of nursing through leadership, education, clinical practice, research, health policy, service, or entrepreneurial initiative.
- Provides inspiration for current students, faculty, and alumni as an Iowa nurse who has positively impacted healthcare.
Nominations are due July 1, 2025.
