Please help us spread joy this holiday season.

Once again, we are encouraging you to help the less fortunate in Johnson County this holiday season. Local support efforts are more important than ever and giving is easy. We hope that you will consider supporting one or both of the following organizations:

Toys for Tots

Our local Toys for Tots supports children in Johnson and Washington Counties and is organized in assistance with the Salvation Army. The goal is to give every participating child (infant through age 14) a gift and book and every family a game.

Gifts may be donated either by:

Selecting a gift tag idea from Toys for Tots box (located in Felton Student Success Center) and returning new, unwrapped gift by December 10.

Purchasing an online gift from Amazon list to be shipped directly to Toys for Tots.

Meals on Wheels

Horizons’ Meals on Wheels of Johnson County program serves more than 1,500 of the most vulnerable older adults in our community. Meal deliveries provide a daily source of nourishment, comfort and connection.

In a testimony that embodies the heart of our mission, one individual describes how Meals on Wheels was a lifeline for his mother and provided him much-needed peace of mind:

"She had broken her hip and had a lot of mobility issues. That daily contact with a volunteer was so important. It was a big relief to me as the only family caregiver in the area knowing she was going to get one good meal a day. She looked forward to it every day."
