Biography

Dr. Charmaine Kleiber is an Associate Professor in the Parent, Child and Family Area at the College of Nursing. Her BSN is from the University of Kansas and her MS in Maternal Child Nursing is from the University of Colorado. Dr. Kleiber completed her training as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and her PhD at the University of Iowa.

Her clinical experiences include work in adult and pediatric intensive care, emergency care, and general care units. She has extensive experience in research utilization and moving evidence into practice. Her special research interest is in pain management. Dr. Kleiber has active research funding for studying postoperative pain in children and adolescents, and acute procedural pain in young children. She teaches courses in research, nursing issues, and clinical courses with an emphasis on critical care.
