Dr. Mary Dirks has been a faculty member at the University of Iowa, College of Nursing since 2000 and is a Clinical Professor and Assistant Dean for Graduate Practice Programs. She has been a PNP since 1997 and, in conjunction with United Action for Youth, provides house calls to at risk expectant or new adolescent moms and their children.

Dr. Dirks is actively involved in many local, state, regional and national boards, committees and professional organizations. Her research and clinical interests include pediatric primary care, pain/anxiety management in children, and PNP education. She has published several manuscripts and has presented regionally, nationally and internationally related to these topics.
