Meet the new faces driving scholarship and practice at the College of Nursing

Daniel Crawford, DNP, ARNP, CPNP-PC, CNE, FAANP 

Daniel Crawford

Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Daniel Crawford (09BSN, 11MSN, 13DNP), became College of Nursing associate dean for graduate practice programs in April 2024. Crawford spent six years as faculty at the Arizona State University Edson College of Nursing and Health Innovation, serving one year as associate director of the Doctor of Nursing Practice program and another as the program’s director. He returned to the UI College of Nursing in 2020 to direct the Pediatric Primary Care Nurse Practitioner program. Crawford’s clinical area of expertise is pediatric neurology, and he practices at the University of Iowa Health Care Stead Family Children’s Hospital. He currently serves as president of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners.

 

Tracie Culp Harrison, PhD, RN, FGSA, FAAN

Tracie Culp Harrison joined the College of Nursing in July 2024 as professor and associate dean for research and scholarship. In this role, she facilitates faculty and graduate student research and scholarship, providing leadership and enhancing the research environment of the college. 

A leader in the field of gerontology, Harrison’s research interests include aging, disability, gender, and cultural beliefs on aging. She holds a PhD in Nursing with portfolios in Gerontology and Women’s and Gender Studies from the University of Texas at Austin, where she also completed post-doctoral work. 

Harrison spent 18 years as faculty in the School of Nursing at UT-Austin, also serving seven years as director of the Center for Excellence in Aging Services and Long-term Care. Most recently, Harrison was professor and Alice An Loh Sun Endowed Chair in Geriatric Nursing at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.

 

Corey Landstrom, MS

The Felton Student Success Center welcomed its first director, Corey Landstrom, in October 2023. As director, Landstrom provides leadership and guides development of a new organizational structure for the Felton Student Success Center and the college’s student services team. The center's programs include enrollment management, academic advising, clinical placement, and student engagement and success initiatives.

Landstrom received his Master of Science in Counseling and Student Personnel with an emphasis in College Student Development from Minnesota State University, Mankato. He has more than twenty-five years of professional higher education administrative experience at six liberal arts colleges across the country, most recently as the executive director of the Center for Academic Resources at Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa.
